International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition

(Anaheim, California, April 25-27, 2019)

IICSB testimonial

DeGroote competitors, on the strength of their “Mugmaster” coffee mug business, finished in first place at the 2019 International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition. Each spring, universities from around the globe participate in the tournament, billed as the world’s longest-running and most comprehensive business competition. Each team is responsible for a strategic business plan, annual report, and one formal oral presentation to judges. Team members gain the experience of running their own company and learn first-hand how a group effort can result in synergy and enthusiasm. The challenge begins remotely in January and culminates with an intensive on-site phase in April.

The competition was an extremely rewarding experience, and quite possibly the best and most fun I’ve had throughout my BCom degree. I’m very grateful to have been chosen for this opportunity, lucky to have worked with such a great group of individuals, and proud of our accomplishments.
